Ahhh, the life of AKs. There’s not one planet owner who doesn’t look back on the days of courier service with fondness and delight. Of course, back then they had to do 700 AKs, walking uphill both ways in the snow. Now, you young’uns have it easy.
Since the reduction in requirements to 200 AKs, many new adventurers have discovered that even upon completion of those jobs they are still slightly short of the cash required to become a merchant (thus, my recommendation to do out-of-Sol jobs as a captain, to try to bank up some extra cash). For this rank, there’s really not a lot of strategy. There’s no fast delivery bonus, no way to increase your income, no way to pick and choose jobs, so it’s simply a time to put your head down and get to work. If you haven’t mapped out the Sol planets by now, you’ll be spending a lot of time looking for locations.
Don’t buy a new ship, extra tonnage does you no good at this rank. Doing the Magellan quest at this rank isn’t a bad thing, it also requires that you find various objects or locations and can be worth the prize for this rank. The Graveyard puzzle can also be done if you need to take a break, but personally, I would wait until I owned 2000 personal shares in my company as a Manufacturer. But that’s all you’re going to get from me in this guide.
As I said, the strategy at this rank is pretty much non-existent. But future ranks more than make up for this lack of strategy, trust me.
