Introduction
Welcome to Federation II. There are three things you need to keep in mind when reading this guide. First, I will assume you have read the Federation’s Idiot Guide (FIG). This manual contains the commands and descriptions of ranks and all of that good basic information that you need to play this game. I am not going to rehash that information in this guide, so make sure you read that, download it or bookmark it online, and refer to it often.
Second, you need to realize that there is no “winning” in this game per se, so there is no one way to strategize. The concepts and plans discussed here may be quite different from what some very successful players have done, and may be nothing like the way in which you want to pursue your goals.
And that leads to the third point: much of this guide is pure opinion, and your results may vary. Federation II is a living, breathing, constantly evolving organism, and simply repeating the actions of others may not get you the same results (and pure repetition isn’t much fun anyways, is it?).
Oh yeah, there’s a fourth point. Fed II is very much a social game. This guide doesn’t not tell you how to make friends and influence people, but remember, this isn’t a game where you just sit down and hammer commands into your keyboard and don’t talk to anyone. Take your time, enjoy exploring the various planets, and remember that this is not a race, there is no rush, and the more time you spend exploring and talking and becoming part of the Fed community, the more you will enjoy your experience.
And a fifth point (I do tend to ramble on at times)…this strategy guide is not going to give you hints as to how to complete puzzles, or where to find Hobbs End, etc. No cheat codes, puzzle solutions, quest hints or anything else will be contained within this guide. Sorry (not really).
