Can you see the Futures?
Traders can no longer haul, can’t buy/fill warehouses, and just generally can’t do much except search for futures and socialize. Futures are explained on the FIG, and for a more in depth look on Futures, check out Catspaws’ page.
Again, there’s not a lot of strategy per se other than simply making good decisions on the futures which you purchase and liquidating them to make Trader Credits. About the only “strategy” is trying to get a PO to manipulate their exchange in order to provide a decent spread on their futures. The main thing to keep in mind at this level is that new (or newly promoted) planets have exchanges which are new as well, and those new exchanges are great for finding high-spread futures. Just be careful and watch to see if the PO is leaving the exchange alone on the first day (most do) or is manipulating the exchange, which can affect your futures drastically.
Update: As suggested by Cragon, a few tips would be helpful. Make sure to read Catspaws page first. Try to find “Tip of the Day” (TOD) futures with spreads over 100 that should last a long time, maybe even to reset. And remember to check up on your futures; markets can be very volatile, especially in Sol, and they can go bad fast. Once a spread starts going below 20, it’s usually a good idea to liquidate fast.
